The course on Planning and Operation of LED Lighting Systems allows one to know the operation of this technology, designing and processing of computer designs and production of prototypes.

LED technology has revolutionized the world of lighting. Its long life, the enormous energy savings that come with it and, last but not least, providing a higher quality light are its main characteristics. The increase in consumption has led to a growing demand for professionals capable of planning and working on LED lighting systems.

The student will be able to plan, build, operate and maintain LED lighting systems, in addition to learning about the latest technological developments, technical standards and norms. This is an innovative and transversal program that will allow you to master any LED lighting system.


Program Objectives

  • Know the relevant technical standards and norms.
  • Evaluate in which spaces these systems are viable and recommended.
  • Plan the operation and maintenance of LED lighting systems.
  • Use the DIALux calculation tool.

Curriculum

Block I:

  • General introduction to LED technology.
  • Manufacturing process of LED lighting technology.
  • Current state of the technique and quality criteria of the individual components: LED semiconductors, control units, mounts.
  • Influential factors in the useful life of LED lighting systems.
  • Analysis of the suppliers of LED system components.
  • Special characteristics of the operation and maintenance of LED lighting systems.
  • Standards and guidelines (EN, DIN, VDE).
  • Certificates (CE, RoHS, TÜV, VDE, WEEE).
  • Profitability calculations (ROI).
  • Exercise.

Block II:

  • Adaptation of LED luminaires for various applications.
  • Evaluate which LED lighting systems are economically and technically operable.
  • Calculations with DIALux (fundamentals).
  • Introduction to the DIALux program.
  • Example of calculation.
  • Verification of key information from DIALux simulations.
  • Detection of incorrect and contradictory data.
  • Exercise.

Frank Zitzelsberger Frank Zitzelsberger Diseño y producción de sistemas de iluminación LED y de control electrónico (CAN-Bus y DALI) en Ductio LED GmbH&Co.KG, Berlín Empresario alemán con larga experiencia docente en el mundo académico. Ha sido profesor en la Academia del TÜV Rheinland. Su enfoque es fusionar la práctica empresarial y la enseñanza, y transmitir a sus estudiantes amplios conomientos del mundo de los negocios y del comercio internacional basados en su experiencia de más de 25 años como ingeniero y arquitecto en España y Alemania.
A través de su trabajo como auditor da la ISO 9001 y consultor energético para el Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos de Alemania, su campo de visión va mucho más allá de la actividad empresarial.
