Arturo Pérez – Reverte
Writer and journalist, member of the Royal Spanish Academy
Arturo Pérez-Reverte “If in recent years the interest in History -always the ugly duckling of our memory as Spaniards, and that which leads to reading and knowledge- has greatly increased among us, it is largely due to the influence of Augustus Ferrer-Dalmau’s work in Spanish society.

I do not want to miss the opportunity, however, of adding to the importance of this new Master and the importance of what is proposed here

In the first place, because Augusto is a loyal friend of mine, and for many years I have been a privileged witness to seeing him grow and settle in his work and his life.

And secondly, because the Foundation that bears his name, which I saw rise from the first idea, is an unusual occurrence in Spain; it is something of enormous importance that will enrich the new generations of historical painters and the general public with its various activities. It will favor History, true memory, intelligence and culture, which are always so isolated, so in need, and so mistreated. Hopefully events like this are a true sign that, in this sense, times change for the better.

"For this reason, to all those who make possible the birth of Nebrija Universitys Masters Degree in History Painting Ferrer-Dalmau (in which I will have the honor of collaborating), I want to express my warmest congratulations.

To the professors, for their enthusiasm and dedication.

To the students, for their noble interest. And I must also warn them to prepare for an experience that will be enriching, hard and fascinating at the same time. Their lives, I am sure, will not be the same after this.

And to Augusto, my congratulations and friendship forever.

They, all of them, can always count on me.
