According to United Nations data, there are currently approximately 281 million migrants worldwide. While this constitutes only 3.6% of the global population, with the majority residing in their countries of origin, migration poses various challenges.

The Nebrija‐Santander Global Chair in Migration and Human Rights seeks to serve as a hub for research, dialogue, and dissemination on this topic.

The Chair's vision is anchored in the four fundamental pillars guiding Nebrija University's operations: academic excellence, pedagogical innovation, internationalization, and employability.

Chair Objectives

Specific Objectives

  • Research and publication of academic works
  • Supervision of doctoral students conducting studies with contracts funded by the chair
  • Organize of events and conferences with leading academic researchers globally, as well as experts from international organizations, civil society, NGOs, governments, or legal professionals
  • Contribute to influencing the development of policies and laws ensuring respect for the fundamental rights of migrants through studies and forums
  • Disseminate information and reflections on migration law through opinion columns or other media interactions.
