Tamir Sorek, sociologist at Pennsylvania State University, professor of Middle East history, co-editor of the New Journal Palestine/Israel Review, and expert on the Palestine-Israel conflict, confesses to not being "very optimistic" about the situation in the Gaza Strip, "especially with the current Israeli government, with which the country has suffered extreme polarisation in the last five years".
