The Bachelor's Degree in Medicine has been designed with the development of competences as a basis and focusing the contents on progressive, systematic and coherent learning. The syllabus is structured as follows:
First year. Cross-cutting subjects common to the whole of Medicine, regardless of the apparatuses and systems of the human body.
Second year: Preventive Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery, Traumatology, Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Pneumology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Internal Medicine Service (Emergency, Operating Room and ICU).
Third year: General Surgery, Digestive Surgery, Digestive, Urology, Nephrology, Internal Medicine Department (Emergency, Operating Room and ICU).
Fourth year. Neurosurgery, Neurorehabilitation, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Psychiatry, Endocrinology, Nutrition, Internal Medicine Service (Emergency, Operating Room and ICU).
Fifth year. Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Geriatrics, Palliative Care, Paediatrics, Oncology, Haematology, Pathological Anatomy, Allergy, Dermatology, Venereology, Admission and Clinical Documentation, Social Work, Obstetric and Gynaecological Emergency, Paediatric Emergency (Operating Room and ICU).

Professional Outputs
The Bachelor's Degree in Medicine is the qualification that qualifies students to practise the profession of doctor (regulated profession in accordance with RD 1393/2007, 29 October) and offers a wide variety of professional opportunities, both in the clinical field and in other sectors related to health and research. Some of the common career opportunities for graduates in Medicine include:
- Clinician: diagnosing and treating patients both in the public health system, accessed by MIR specialisation, and in the private sector.
- Health management: playing key roles in management and decision-making in health care facilities.
- Public health: participating in disease prevention, health promotion and health policy management programmes at community or governmental level.
- Teaching and education: playing a crucial role in the training of future health professionals and in the continuous development of medical knowledge, contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of care.
- Biomedical research: contributing to the development of new knowledge and advances in innovation and technology.

Internships in Clinical and Hospital Centres
Students carry out 58 credits of internships, in the form of an independent clinical rotation and with a final assessment of competencies, in Health Centres, Hospitals and other healthcare centres with the aim of familiarising them with their structure and operation, promoting teamwork. They are carried out from the second semester of the second year to the first semester of the sixth year of the Degree.
The existence of the Tutored Clinical Practicals, which are compulsory by definition, allows direct assessment of the application of knowledge or content, skills or abilities and competencies or capacities that students possess.
The tutors of the health centres in which they are carried out and the lecturers responsible for the Clinical Practicals take part in the evaluation of the students' progress in these placements. At the end of each internship rotation, the student is evaluated in relation to the degree to which he/she has achieved the objectives and acquired the competencies set for these subjects.
