Erasmus+ Scholarships
for study
Please remember that our destinations are divided into Erasmus agreements and bilateral agreements. If, in the Mobility Programme call for applications, you have been allocated a destination under an Erasmus agreement, you will be eligible for this financial support.
Erasmus grants are funded by the European Union and managed at European level by the European Commission and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency.
In Spain, the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE) is the national agency responsible for managing, promoting and evaluating the Erasmus+ programme in the fields of education and training, as well as other European initiatives. It also promotes national and international projects and works to strengthen the global profile of the Spanish university system.
Its key functions include publicising calls for applications, providing technical advice to participants and monitoring activities to ensure that the intended objectives are met.
The amounts allocated may vary from one academic year to the next, as these depend on a number of factors.

Participants in the International Mobility Programme can choose to go abroad for the first semester, the second semester or the full academic year. You should consult your academic coordinator to determine which duration is most suitable based on your study plan, academic year, academic record, etc.
Mobility placements in the fourth year must be reviewed and approved in advance by the academic coordinator.
It is recommended that you submit an IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT certificate, although it is essential to check our destinations website for the specific requirements of each university. Only certificates issued within the last two years will be accepted.
Students must sign a Learning Agreement with the International Academic Coordinator at their Faculty/School, specifying the modules they wish to take at the host university and the equivalent modules that will be recognised at Nebrija University. At the end of your placement, the host university will send your marks and your coordinator will recognise the credits in accordance with that Learning Agreement.

No, tuition fees are paid to Nebrija in accordance with the terms agreed by the student (monthly instalments or one-off payments). Some universities occasionally charge an administrative fee.
Costs vary considerably depending on the country, so it is important to carry out a rough assessment of the cost of living in the country where your chosen university is located. At some universities, particularly in the United States, on-campus accommodation and private health insurance are compulsory, with the associated financial costs. Bear in mind the fees associated with visa processing for countries that require a visa.
Once the final allocation has been published, you will need to submit the documents requested by your host university (application form, academic transcript, copy of your passport, etc.). You will receive an email from your host university containing this information. You can also check their website. If you do not submit these documents by their deadline, this may result in you not being accepted as an exchange student.
Yes, there are a number of documents you’ll need to submit before you leave. We’ll let you know all about this via your Nebrija email and at the pre-departure meetings.
If you have been allocated a placement that is part of the Erasmus+ programme, the International Mobility Office will handle the relevant applications and provide you with further information via email at erasmus@nebrija.es
The amount of the grant depends on the cost of living in the host country; the Erasmus+ programme divides countries into three groups. You can check the estimated amount of your grant via the following link: Calculate your grant.
Grants will be paid in two instalments: 70 per cent of the total upon arrival at your host university and 30 per cent of the total at the end of your stay. Payment of this grant will be subject to the submission of the required documentation.
If you are classified as a participant with ‘fewer opportunities’, the grant amount will be higher. You can check the conditions via the following link: SEPIE’s Inclusion and Diversity Strategy.
For Erasmus destinations, you will need to apply for the European Health Insurance Card. If you are not covered by the Spanish National Health Service, check with your private health insurance provider (MUFACE, MUGEJU or another).
For destinations outside the Erasmus Programme, you will need to take out private insurance that provides international cover. Please note that the cover provided may vary (psychological support, dental care, etc.).
Yes, citizens of a European Union member state and citizens of non-EU countries who hold a valid residence permit allowing them to reside in Spain for the duration of the mobility period may take part in the International Mobility Programme and, where applicable, be eligible for an Erasmus grant.
If you are not from the European Union, you may need to apply for a visa. Please check with the embassy of your destination country and with your own country’s embassy.
Students may withdraw from the International Mobility Programme before the end of the appeal period without incurring any penalty. The dates will be set out in the Procedures Calendar, and students must notify the programme in writing by email to outgoing@nebrija.es.
After this deadline, should any withdrawals occur during the process, these must be supported by documentary evidence citing medical or academic reasons; otherwise, the candidate will be penalised by being barred from participating in the International Mobility Programme in the following academic year.
