Intensive training on patent and trade mark registration procedures

This exclusive Advanced Course in Expertise and Trademark Protection has the objective of knowing and learning the mechanisms of trademark protection from a double perspective. On the one hand, that of the buyer, analysing when a product is original, learning to differentiate original brand websites from other fake ones that try to supplant the identity and deceive the buyer. On the other hand, that of the seller, analysing the interested buyer, verifying and detecting possible fraud in the documentation presented to formalise the physical purchase or other frauds carried out through ICTs.

The course also aims to raise awareness of the risks involved in the pirate products market, for brands, for the seller, the buyer and the cost in general for the State, which has to devote considerable resources to its fight, such as the specialisation and preparation of the security forces and bodies that investigate and dismantle organised groups dedicated to this criminal modality.

We analyse the economic repercussions through prestigious law firms that represent these brands and we will see the high damage to their assets and image.

"A training course for experts against counterfeiting in today's society. Do you know one of the main problems of the big brands? The protection of their distinctive sign. In this course we will train you to analyse, document and protect all the parties involved in a purchase and sale in order to detect and avoid possible fraud and counterfeiting".

We will also look at an economic x-ray, calculating the hypothetical profit of these sellers and the cost it represents for the trademark holder.

The course will be developed with a thorough examination of the regulatory basis that supports it, knowing the applicable legislation, which will allow us to distinguish, for example, between two different actions such as counterfeiting or inspiration, a crucial point since one of them has criminal repercussions. In examining this regulatory framework, a comparative study of our environment will be carried out, also setting out the protection mechanisms and legislation put in place in Europe.

With the aforementioned objectives, the aim is also to provide students with consumer awareness tools, as counterfeiting causes economic losses, but also personal damage, as we will see in a section on the counterfeiting of pharmaceutical products and their possible repercussions on health, the subject being so broad that in this first introductory course we will focus on the jewellery, watchmaking and leather goods markets, and their online markets.
