Master's Degree in Computational Linguistics
Designed to train specialists in natural language processing (NLP), artificial intelligence applied to language and advanced linguistic technologies.
Where language drives artificial intelligence_.
100% online master's degree, with synchronous classes that facilitate direct interaction with the teaching staff, complemented by recorded sessions to guarantee maximum flexibility.
The programme is oriented towards both employability and research, offering specialised training in the analysis and development of systems capable of understanding, processing and generating human language.
What is
Computational Linguistics?
Computational linguistics is the interdisciplinary area that combines:
- Linguistics
- Artificial Intelligence
- Data Science
- Programming
- Language technologies
Its aim is to develop tools capable of analysing large volumes of text, automating linguistic tasks and creating applications based on natural language: from conversational assistants to translation systems or generative AI.
"We contribute to society if we form multilingual and multicultural citizens, capable of transmitting and teaching what they are and what they know through innovative methodologies, with an artistic, creative and critical sense of life".
Why is this Master's different?
Because it is entirely dedicated to Computational Linguistics and artificial intelligence applied to language. It is not a pathway within another programme, but a specialised training that integrates linguistic foundations, programming and current AI models - including generative AI - with a clear professional orientation. Its approach combines academic rigour, practical application and attention to the Spanish and multilingual context in a 100% online format.
The programme offers in an environment where language models are transforming the technology sector, this master's degree prepares professionals capable of understanding, evaluating and developing language technologies with scientific rigour and critical vision:
Actual specialisation in computational linguistics
Cross-cutting integration of generative AI
Applied and project-oriented training
Focus on Spanish and multilingual context

Syllabus
Students must take 60 credits. Official degree adapted to RD 822/2021.
Training complements
In order to guarantee a homogeneous base among students, the Academic Committee may require the completion of complementary courses in those cases in which the entry profile does not include the necessary language training.
The complements (12 ECTS) will be taken online and may include:
- General Linguistics
- Grammar and Syntax
- Lexical-Semantics and Pragmatics.
These credits do not form part of the 60 ECTS of the master's degree and are intended to ensure that all students have the necessary prior knowledge to follow the programme.
