The Master in Architectural Sustainability: Design and Management trains professionals for sustainable architecture, from feasibility analysis to complete project management. It responds to the labour demand driven by European initiatives, such as the Green Deal and the Next Generation funds, promoting energy efficiency and renewable energies in construction.
Society, business and government need qualified and trained professionals for this new context in which we live, in a sector with a lack of professionals with a specialisation in line with these new needs.
This programme, with a clear professional orientation, will allow students to approach sustainability in urban planning and building from a holistic viewpoint, and by means of a propaedeutic methodology, through work on a transversal project, to begin, deepen and specialise in the development of the Sustainable Architecture Project, in a comprehensive manner, from the analysis of the climate and land use planning to the analysis of the profitability of the project from the real estate point of view.
In this sense, the Master's also has a differential element, beyond the development of the sustainable architecture project, it places special emphasis on the management processes involved in this type of project, both new construction and rehabilitation, highlighting issues in many cases far from architecture professionals, such as the value proposition, the technical and economic viability of the proposal, the marketing of the product and the economic analysis including in this process the application and management of subsidies, financing, etc. All this frames the Master in a clear professional orientation, which allows the graduate to develop with ease and fluency in their future professional practice, being able to speak a "language" or language adapted to their target clientele, without forgetting the necessary technical specialisation to be able to undertake the architectural project.

- Interpret information related to the materialisation of projects that help to respond to the different problems of the project and its different agents by applying the knowledge obtained from learning the principles, fundamentals and certification of sustainable architecture projects, technology and materials in the sustainable architecture project, sustainable architecture project and taxonomy, ESG, finance, management and marketing.
- Understand the practice and development of a sustainable architecture project: climate analysis, passive and active design strategies required, sketches, preliminary projects, basic projects, implementation projects and site monitoring, circular economy, dismantling or demolition.
- Evaluate the different construction systems and materials used in the design and construction of sustainable architecture projects.
- Gather knowledge of management, timing and agents involved in the communication of the sustainable architecture project.
- Understand the economic and organisational environment in which the sustainable architecture project is developed, both in terms of business and construction, and know how to respond appropriately to the needs.
- Apply management controls to generate efficient results with high added value for the project.
- Analyse and resolve the optimal construction system and strategy required for each project, so that they respond to sustainable architecture solutions.
- Energy simulation of buildings or parts of buildings.
- Certify a project and/or building energetically and environmentally, in accordance with current regulations or existing environmental certification seals.
- Act as a rehabilitation agent, application, management and justification of subsidies in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability.
