  • Forge your career in the heart of the wind revolution

The world is moving with a clear and powerful urgency towards a clean energy future, and at the heart of this transformation is wind energy. It is no longer a promising alternative, but the reality that today powers entire countries. In Spain, wind turbines are the leading source of electricity generation, covering more than a quarter of our demand. This leadership is only the beginning of a monumental growth: to meet national and European commitments, we need to multiply our installed capacity, an effort that will require a new generation of engineers and managers with unique qualifications.

This is the turning point for careers in the renewables sector. The wind industry, an economic pillar representing billions of euros in GDP and exports, is facing a challenge as stimulating as it is specific. It has reached a technological maturity that makes it unstoppable, but its exponential acceleration has revealed a critical gap in available talent. Companies are looking for, and urgently need, professionals who not only possess solid engineering fundamentals, but who have a deep understanding of the entire wind farm ecosystem: from the aerodynamics of a blade to the financial and regulatory complexity of a project of hundreds of megawatts.

However, until now, Spanish universities did not offer a comprehensive training response to this specific need. New graduates, although brilliant, required long periods of adaptation to acquire the applied knowledge that industry demands from day one. Recognising this opportunity and this duty, the Nebrija University's Master's Degree in Wind Energy was born. A programme created not from isolated theory, but from the most direct practice, thanks to a strategic framework agreement with the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE), which brings together more than 90% of the companies in the sector in Spain.

This programme is conceived as the definitive bridge between academic talent and professional excellence in the wind energy sector. Its objective is dual and ambitious. Firstly, it aims to alleviate the historical lack of specialised profiles, providing graduates with a complete mastery of the methods, processes, regulations and specific techniques of wind engineering. Secondly, it aspires to become a pole of attraction for national and international talent, offering cutting-edge training that is unparalleled in the current university scene, attracting those who want to lead the energy transition from a position of in-depth knowledge.

The programme is structured around two fundamental axes that intertwine to offer a holistic vision. On the one hand, Technology and Development, where the student is immersed in the heart of the wind turbine. Here, they integrate knowledge of mechanics, electricity, aerodynamics and control to achieve a global understanding of the turbine, enabling them to design, simulate and certify solutions with industry tools. On the other hand, Project Management, where you learn to orchestrate all the necessary elements to make a wind farm a reality. This involves mastering feasibility assessment, technology selection, economic and financial aspects, the regulatory framework, installation logistics, operation and maintenance, and a vision of the global market, including the emerging horizon of offshore wind.

At the end of this programme, you will be prepared to integrate immediately and with solvency in any department of a leading company in the sector, whether in advanced engineering, business development or project management roles. You will be able to lead multidisciplinary teams, assess the viability of new installations with your own criteria and manage the complete life cycle of a wind project, ensuring its technical, economic and environmental success.

"The current and future world will be full of wind energy. Nebrija University has prepared a Master's Degree for you to start or complement your training in the sector, hand in hand with the AEE and the best professionals in the sector. A very real Master's Degree that covers the training deficiencies that exist in the labour market".

    Director of the Polytechnic School

"We have not just created a curriculum; we have designed a full immersion experience in the wind industry. We have done so hand in hand with its key players, through our founding partnership with the Wind Energy Business Association. This is not a Master's degree about the sector; it is a Master's degree created with and for the sector.

At the Polytechnic School, we encourage hands-on learning through a 'learning by doing' approach, while establishing a close connection with the business world to train our students as leaders capable of solidly linking theory with practice".
