Master's Degree in Victim and Offender Profiling
In 100% online mode
With the collaboration of the State Security Forces
This is the only official programme in Spain devoted entirely to applied profiling from a scientific, operational and multidisciplinary perspective, integrating knowledge of psychology, criminology, forensic medicine and forensic sciences.
This programme was created with a clear vocation: to offer the most rigorous, advanced and specialised training in a crucial area for criminal investigation, forensic psychology and victim intervention.
The Master's Degree is designed to provide students with practical tools and in-depth knowledge to understand, analyse and anticipate deviant or criminal behaviour, as well as to interpret the psychological and behavioural impact on victims. Through real cases, simulations, crime scene analysis and proven investigation methodologies, students will develop skills that are directly applicable to their professional field, whether they are police officers, clinical psychologists, journalists, company personnel managers, etc. .... and the profiling technique is applied in many professional fields (not only in a criminal context).
One of the great differential values of this Master is its international faculty, composed of some of the world's leading experts in criminal profiling, victimology and forensic investigation. Professionals with direct experience in high-impact cases, from different countries and organisations, will provide a global, up-to-date vision based on real practice, which is difficult to find in other academic programmes.
Criminal profiling is no longer a tool reserved for police elites or television series, but has become a strategic pillar in crime investigation and prevention, both in the public and private spheres.
However, the supply of training in Spain is limited. The Observatory for Training in Forensic Sciences reports that 61% of graduates in Criminology or Forensic Psychology are looking for specialisation programmes in crime profiling that they cannot find in the university system. This unsatisfied demand is not only found in the State Security Forces and Corps, but also in Human Resources departments, security companies, insurance companies, investigative journalism and international organisations.
Exclusively research oriented
Against this backdrop, we present the Master's Degree in Victim and Offender Profiling, a pioneering programme in Spain with an exclusively research orientation.
Unlike other applied or professional programmes, this degree is designed to train researchers capable of generating original and transferable scientific knowledge in the field of criminal and victimological profiling.
Graduates will not only master the techniques of behavioural analysis, but will also be prepared to design and carry out empirical studies, validate assessment instruments, publish in specialised journals and contribute to the advancement of evidence-based criminology.
The professional projection of this Master's transcends our borders
In the United States, the Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts sustained growth of 6% to 13% in criminal profiling occupations through 2034, which translates into thousands of annual job openings in areas such as private investigation, forensic science and behavioural psychology. In Latin America, more than 70% of large companies have implemented human rights due diligence programmes that require specialised profiles in behavioural analysis and psychosocial risk, and investigative journalists in Mexico, Brazil and Colombia are increasingly demanding training to interpret crime patterns.
