A programme with a focus on professional practice and research
The Master’s Degree in Educational Management, Planning and Leadership addresses the need to train professionals and researchers in the field of governance within educational institutions, equipping them with advanced competencies, skills and attitudes to implement and develop governance across all areas of an educational organisation.
This Master’s programme aims to integrate the skills required of future public policy makers in the field of education, heads and managers of educational institutions, and teachers in general, with the knowledge derived from new areas of interaction and management.
Graduates of this degree programme will be able to lead the transformation of educational institutions, taking into account not only the integration of information and communication technologies into the classroom and the adaptation of teaching methodologies, but also all aspects and processes of an educational organisation: structural, organisational, managerial, planning, etc.
One of the key distinguishing features of this degree programme is its dual focus, which results in two career pathways upon completion of the Master’s: a professional track and a research track.
The programme structure includes modules covering the theoretical foundations of educational governance, as well as three optional modules which students must undertake depending on the profile they wish to pursue.
On the one hand, two four-credit modules on methodology and analysis in the field are offered for the research profile; on the other hand, an eight-credit work placement module is offered for the professional profile.
Furthermore, the combination of topics such as information and communication technologies, new methodologies in the teaching-learning process, and the internal organisation and management of educational centres and organisations gives the programme a unique, integrated character that encompasses the key characteristics required to lead these institutions.
“We contribute to society by nurturing multilingual and multicultural citizens who are able to convey and teach who they are and what they know, using innovative methodologies that foster an artistic, creative and critical approach to life.”
