Encouraging active learning methodologies
In a context of unprecedented social and labour transformation, driven by technological evolution and digitalisation, the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) approach is emerging as a fundamental educational response for the 21st century. This model, which integrates scientific, technological, artistic and mathematical disciplines in a cross-disciplinary way, not only fosters creativity, critical thinking and collaboration, but also prepares students to solve the most complex problems of today's world through innovation and interdisciplinary knowledge.
Aware of the need to build a solid theoretical body that supports these practices, Nebrija University presents the Master's Degree in Research for the Development of STEAM Competences.
This programme, which is 100% virtual and research-oriented, is designed to train teachers and education professionals in the analysis, design and leadership of educational research projects of excellence in the STEAM field.
Over the course of 60 ECTS, the Master's Degree delves into the fundamentals of the STEAM model, active learning methodologies (such as Project Based Learning, Design Thinking or maker culture), the impact of ICT and computational thinking, and the design of educational research following the most rigorous scientific standards. The programme culminates with a Master's Thesis (12 ECTS) that allows students to apply all the knowledge acquired to actively contribute to the advancement of knowledge in this emerging area.
Aimed at graduates in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Pedagogy, Psychopedagogy or the Master's Degree in Teacher Training, this Master's Degree responds to the growing demand for research specialisation in a field with little official offer, positioning its graduates as leaders capable of advising educational centres, forming part of research teams and designing curricula that integrate STEAM disciplines, all aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and democratic principles.
Dra.
Why study the Master's Degree in Research for the Development of STEAM Skills?
Unique and applied research focus
This programme trains professionals in the generation of knowledge. You will learn to use the scientific method to plan, develop and analyse research in STEAM education, from the specialised bibliographic search to the interpretation of data, with a 12 ECTS dissertation as the backbone. The Master is supported by prestigious research groups such as CEDI (Cognition, Education and Individual Differences) and CE_Ed (Quality and Equity in Education), as well as the Nebrija Centre for Cognition (CINC), equipped with cutting-edge technology (eye tracking, EEG, virtual reality).
