«Las Médulas: transformaciones del paisaje y paisajes de futuro». 18-19.octubre. Universidad de León, Universidad Nebrija, Junta de Castilla y León, Fundación Las Médulas

Las Médulas es una enclave sito en la provincia de León reconocido como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Este curso quiere dar a conocer el paisaje de Las Médulas, su evolución histórica y las principales afecciones paisajísticas de su entorno. En el mismo se profundizará en el estudio de sus valores culturales y naturales al tiempo que se abre la perspectiva para analizar y comprender diferentes intervenciones de recuperación paisajística de espacios degradados. El debate sobre la conservación de los espacios mineros será otro de los ejes del curso. Una formación destinada a proporcionar diversos puntos de vista sobre el paisaje y la huella humana en el mismo.

«Inside and out, old and new: restoring and redisplaying historical interiors in contemporary museums» por Joanna Norman, Director of the V&A Research Institute. 03.10.19

Joanna Norman is Director of the V&A Research Institute. She oversees and directs the V&A’s research activities, including research and development for exhibitions and publications, a portfolio of externally-funded research projects and postgraduate programmes, including the internationally renowned MA in the History of Design and Material Culture, co-delivered with the Royal College of Art. She joined the V&A in 2005 as assistant curator for the Museum’s 2009 Baroque exhibition, moving to the Royal Academy of Arts as co-curator of the 2010 Treasures from Budapest exhibition. From 2012-15 she was project curator for Europe 1600–1815, the redevelopment of the V&A’s permanent galleries of 17th- and 18th-century European art and design, and was subsequently lead curator for the Scottish Design Galleries at V&A Dundee, which opened in 2018.  In her capacity as Director of the V&A Research Institute she is closely involved with plans for V&A East, a new museum and Collections & Research Centre in Stratford, East London, due to open in 2023. Joanna has published widely in association with her curatorial projects, and also on the history of performance (theatre, festivals and musical instruments) in early modern Italy. She has a particular research interest in so-called period rooms and the reconstruction of historic interiors inside and outside the museum environment.
