Access and admission criteria

The access requirements to take the Bachelor's level teachings are those described in Art. 3 of Royal Decree 412/2014, of June 6, which establishes the basic regulations for admission procedures to official university Bachelor’s degrees.

Admission profile

The degree has a mixed profile with a main artistic and creative component, but also with a high number of subjects in the scientific-technological sector. For this reason, the recommended admission profile is that of a candidate coming from both the technological and artistic baccalaureate, but in both cases he/she must meet the following characteristics:

• Artistic sensitivity with a special inclination towards drawing and design.
• An accentuated creative profile.
• Good inclination towards the use of computers and computing.
• Good grades.

In the case of accessing from higher vocational education and training cycles, the recommended higher education cycles to access this bachelor's degree will be the following:

• Construction project development and application.
• Building and process facilities maintenance and assembly.
• Carpentry and furniture product development.
• Ceramic product development and manufacturing.
• Mechanical project development.
• Editorial design and production.

Access criteria and special access conditions or exams

Nebrija University complies with the conditions for accessing undergraduate studies established in Royal Decree 1393/2007 of October 29, which determines the planning of official university studies, and also requires passing its own access exams, both for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Likewise, Nebrija University complies with the provisions of Article 13 of RD 1892/2008. Passing the university entrance exam.

“1. Accessing the Spanish university, both public and private, in order to take the studies leading to the different official university Bachelor's degrees, which are valid throughout the national territory, will require, in general, the passing of the exam referred to in Article 38 of Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3, on Education, which is regulated in this royal decree, notwithstanding the other cases provided for in Article 3 of this royal decree.””

Students who are in any of the following academic situations can apply for admission to the first year:

• Students from 2nd year of Baccalaureate and Spanish university entrance exam (Selectividad), or COU and Spanish university entrance exam (Selectividad
• Students who have completed their secondary education studies abroad and have access to University education in their country (for member countries of the European Union or signatories of the agreement on the European Economic Area, or those with whom an agreement of recognition of degrees has been signed).
• Students who have completed their secondary education studies abroad and have passed the Spanish university entrance exam (Selectividad) for Foreigners (rest of educational systems).
• Students who have completed university studies at another Spanish or foreign university and want to continue them at Nebrija University, or who want to start other degrees in this University, can apply for admission to years other than first.

The admission process, in the Bachelor's degree programs, is divided into several phases, as described below:

1. Preregistration

Students who wish to start their university studies at the Antonio de Nebrija University must submit the admission application form along with the required documentation.

Submitting the admission application along with the form for choosing the date to take the admission test must be done in person during a visit to the University, or sent by post to the University.

Likewise, the admission procedure can be started by filling out the online admission form. The Academic Information Section will confirm the candidate having received the printed or online application, and will summon him/her to the chosen admission test.

On the day of the admission test, the candidate must submit, if he/she has not done so in advance, the following documentation:

• Photocopy of the academic record.
• Photocopy of ID or passport.
• Two passport-size photographs.
• Cover letter from a teacher/tutor from the center of origin, or person with whom they have had academic or professional contact.

2. Admission tests

All students who wish to pursue their university studies at the Antonio de Nebrija University must pass an admission process consisting of:

• Evaluation of the academic record.
• Evaluation of the results obtained in the admission tests. These tests that take place on a single day -morning or afternoon- and have an approximate duration of 2.5/3 hours and consist of:
  • Psychotecnical assessment.
    Specific test of the chosen degree/s. An example of an admission test from previous years for Engineering degrees can be viewed in the ANNEX of this document.
  • Personal interview with a university professor.

The results of the admission tests are communicated in writing and by telephone to each candidate within a period of approximately 3 to 5 days.

3. Pre-enrollment

Once the admission has been communicated, the candidates must pay for the place reservation. This economic pre-enrollment guarantees the candidate's place at the University.

4. Enrollment

Pre-enrolled candidates who wish to formalize their academic enrollment at the University must, within the indicated deadlines, follow the following steps:

• Submit documentation: documentary proof that they have passed the requirements established by Spanish university legislation in order to start/continue their university studies at Nebrija University.
• Formalize the enrollment process online: The self-enrollment service on the Nebrija website allows admitted students to carry out all the academic, financial and administrative procedures, without having to physically go to the University. Admitted students will formalize their self-enrollment within the indicated deadlines. To do this, they will receive at their address, together with their admission letter, the access code and personal password necessary to be able to carry out their academic and economic self-enrollment. Once the self-enrollment is formalized, the candidate acquires the status of student of Nebrija University. In the self-enrollment process, the student will have the technical assistance of IT Services department at all times, as well as academic assistance, from his/her future tutor, so that they can guide him/her in choosing subjects.
• Payment of the annual registration fees for the degree for which they were admitted. The place reservation fee is part of the annual registration fees.
