WEST 8 Urban design & Landscape architecture (Rotterdam) ,fundado en 1987, es uno de los estudios de paisajismo y diseño urbano líderes en el mundo, referente de diseño de vanguardia en proyectos a lo largo de Europa, Asia y America, entre los que se incluyen proyectos ganadores en importantes concursos internacionales como el frente marítimo de Toronto en 2005, el parque de Governors Island en New York en 2007, o el masterplan para la regeneración de la Playa de Palma en 2008.
Las oficinas de West 8 en Rotterdam y Nueva York combinan a diferentes profesionales con un claro enfoque multidisciplinar para afrontar los diferentes aspectos del diseño urbano como planes directores a gran escala, parques, intervenciones paisajísticas, frentes marítimos…. Además West 8 desarrolla aspectos relacionados con el calentamiento global, la urbanización del territorio y las infraestructuras.
Trabajando desde el principio a nivel internacional, West 8 ha desarrollado proyectos alrededor del mundo, en metrópolis tan importantes como Copenhague, Londres, Moscú, Nueva York, Madrid, Toronto o Amsterdam. La oficina consiguió reconocimiento internacional con proyectos como Schouwburgplein en Rotterdam (NL), Borneo Sporenburg en Amsterdam (NL), Chiswick Park en Londres (UK) y Expo '02 en Yverdon-les-Bains (SUIZA). Entre los numerosos premios recibidos por West 8 se encuentran el Dutch Maaskant Award, el primer premio de paisajismo europeo Rosa Barba y el Veronica Rudge Green Prize de diseño urbano.
This Master's degree qualifies the student to practice the profession of architect in Spain. It is a gateway to work within the free exercise of the profession, in public entities and companies linked to this field of knowledge. Also, those students who have completed it, and in accordance with current regulations, may study the doctorate degree.
Nebrija University organized a program full of activities in Madrid and Milan. Among them was the conference of the Italian architect and designer Ezio Manzini, and the presentation of the book "Four walls and a roof" by architect Reinier de Graaf.
