This exclusive Master's Degree in Disruptive Innovation and Entrepreneurship aims to train leaders in the conceptualization, management and implementation of projects, products and services with a strong base on disruptive innovation, and has ArcelorMittalas a partner, the world's leading steel and mining producer, with industrial facilities in 18 countries.

Creating the products and services of tomorrow requires knowing the emerging technologies that are beginning to be used today. From Big Data and artificial intelligence to biotechnology, through robotics, additive manufacturing and nanotechnology, the convergence between technologies is, more than ever, a goal to be pursued.

The challenge for both the company and the professional is how to combine extensive knowledge in terms of the disruptive innovation at our fingertips, with project, product and expectation management that allows the creation of high-performance teams that bring demanding and high-impact projects to fruition. Ultimately, the goal is to train the leaders of disruptive innovation through entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills.

This program, unprecedented in Spain, is based on three fundamental pillars:

  • Detailed knowledge of the most relevant disruptive technologies and processes in the coming years.
  • Application of the most advanced procedures, frameworks and methodologies for managing projects, products and services with a high degree of risk and ambiguity.
  • Everything from an entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship approach, where students become professionals who analyze, define, defend and lead these projects.

The planned duration of this master's degree is 10 months, the first 2 months at Nebrija University's Madrid-Princesa Campus and the following 8 months at the Asturias Campus of ArcelorMittal I+D, combining paid internships with learning.

ArcelorMittal has over 1,400 researchers and 12 technology centers around the world, where new products, processes and solutions in steelmaking are designed, tested, improved and deployed. Their work enables ArcelorMittal to improve competitiveness by developing new industrial processes and optimizing existing ones in order to reduce costs, improve product quality, and reduce the environmental impact of activities. In addition, the company's intense R&D activity contributes to the acquisition of advanced technical knowledge by the company's workers, as well as being an important asset for attracting talent from universities and educational centers.

In 2020, ArcelorMittal invested $245 million in R&D activities, keeping it at the forefront of industrial innovation. The Global R&D Centers located in Spain, located in Asturias and the Basque Country, play a key role in the company, opening up new opportunities for growth and development. In this way, its research activity will have a driving role in the new decarbonization strategies of the iron and steel process. A first 8-week phase will be carried out at Nebrija University's Princesa campus, in Madrid. After that, most of the classes will be in the remote modality, and students will combine their theoretical sessions and workshops with paid internships at the ArcelorMittal I+D campus in Asturias. Classes and workshops will be held in the afternoon to make it compatible with professional internships.
